  • Uninstall Play -Games- Services Possible and what to look for?

Hello,

I have installed Play services and play store regularly via the grapheneos installer.
After that I have installed a game and it was missing the play games app. (I got a popup telling me this from the OS). I can recall that after I hit download and install for play games app in Google Play store, there was a popup that prompted me to install something else, I think I was com.android.XXX (don't remember what exactly the name is) which might have been the play games services?
Is there someone that might remember what service has been installed additionally with play games and is there a chance to uninstall play games services without removing the whole play services in total?
After I found out that the game crashes were because of the exploit protection compatibility mode not turned on, I wanted to try out if it works without the additional service/program that installed with the Play games app but since I did not make a screenshot I am lost what to look for.
Thanks in advance!

Installing Play Games also requires installing a shared library for it, that's what you saw. You will not find it in the apps list, it will automatically be removed once its not needed anymore (likely after Play Games is uninstalled).

It can't run or do stuff on its own, it basically just provides code for other apps, namely Play Games in this case.

    More info here.
    Its name likely was com.google.android.libraries.internal.sampleads_10009.

You only need to uninstall Play Games, not Play Services. (This would also brick your GMS install and require reinstalling all apps depending on Play Services as well, so highly recommend against doing this)

pxlkng Thank you so much for clarifying this and showing me the link to github where you have had the same "issue".
I did face the same phenomenon, it doesn't show under system apps and there was no prompt to install it again after uninstalling and installing it again.
But since everything is okay I'll leave it as it is. Thanks again!
