Android Auto won't connect with the phone locked

I have a Pixel 9 running GrapheneOS build 2025021100.

Android Auto has "Start Android Auto while locked" enabled, and Sandboxed Google Play has "Allow permissions for wired Android Auto" enabled, but the Pixel 9 won't connect to my car with the phone locked. Once I unlock the phone it connects and Android Auto works correctly. Is there some other setting that I need to change to get this to work, or is this feature broken somehow?

Well, one more thing. Amazon just delivered a wireless Android Auto adapter, but my phone isn't connecting to it. I've enabled "Allow permissions for wireless Android Auto". Are there other settings I should check?
