Help me reclaim the camera

So I have spent all morning fiddlign with the camera, and all I can say IS WOW I AM A HAIR AWAY FROMR EVERTING TO ANDROID TONIGHT.

I can nto get a clea rpicture of my bird, it's blurry allthe tiem even when standing still, the quality of images is SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED, LIKE HOLY S*** BAD. Even getting another profile and isntallign the google camera app, there is a massive delay on taking photos compared to stock android 13.

WHAT THE HELL IS WITH GRAPHENEOS AND CAMERAS. I bought a P7 PRO for the camera, it's the reason i shelled out so much damn money, and now i basically have to throw it in the bin it's that bad if I want graphene.

I am having the same issues on Pixel 7 Pro.

Can you please check how long Portrait mode takes to process an image? For me, its over 40 seconds vs 1 max 2 seconds in stock OS.

Rubberduckzilla I understand that you may be frustrated, but there's no need for the caps. It's easy to complain, and harder to help the project improve.

Volen I'm not sure if this is something you've done already, but have you perhaps reported your findings on the OS's tracker on GitHub?

While the team and the project's developers do check the forum and reply sometimes, the official channel to report issues is there.

I can confirm his statement - please see my other topic about Google Camera issues on Pixel 7 Pro.

For some reason, Google Camera does not work properly on Pixel 7 devices (it seems Pixel 6 owners are not affected). This especially affects Portrait mode that takes over 40 seconds to process an image. The overall interface is sluggish and camera stuck when taking multiple pictures quickly, etc.

I was trying to debug with no luck. My guess is that it maybe requires some extra libraries.

Volen Yep and the default camera app with graphene is also awful, laggy delayed photos, its completley blurred quality is significantly reduced. Just completely god awful

Someone apparently reported this already on github but it was closed by devs as being unplanned. Need to dig to find the post...

Did you install Google camera from Aurora Store or Play Store? I've read the wrong camera app can be installed from Aurora Store and there are differences between the same Google Camera app.

I've also seen problems with Google Camera taking like 10 pictures in a row on a Pixel 7 (it stalls and processes without ability to take more pictures) but it was not happen constantly. I will recheck with a fresh GrapheneOS and Play Store installed.

Aurora store is just a Play Store client, it shows the exact same apps as Play Store so its a bit unclear how the Google Camera app on Aurora might be different from Google Camera app on Play Store. I don't think this is a legit theory to be honest.

Also, how come Pixel 6 owners get the "correct" Google Camera app from Aurora Store but Pixel 7 users do not?

Nevertheless, this is still not applicable as I personally pulled the Camera apk out from stock OS with the same results. Its something to do with either camera libraries or maybe some essential proprietary library is missing.
