Google should cover GrapheneOS foundation costs

Every year, Google spend more than $400+ millions dollars on Mozilla to remain the default search engine in Firefox.

Imagine if Google donate just $1 million to GrapheneOS every year. Graphene could hire more qualified devs, the improvements will be more significant. Look what Graphene already accomplished with little, imagine if we give them appropriate funds.

Google isn't waisting any money. The hardening of GrapheneOS benefits the stock OS and AOSP.

What is $1 million for a company who make more than $150 billion every year..

They have very little incentive to want to do that though. Their "donations" to Mozilla aren't as altruistic as they appear to be, keeping Mozilla (barley) afloat help them avoid monopoly allegations.

chance it's obviously not altruistic at all but they can see a good donation to Graphene as an investment for AOSP. It's like if Graphene devs were indirectly working for Google because the whole development of AOSP is under their hands.

I'd rather imagine they remove their monopolistic claws off android and chrome development, and reduce themselves to making their own flavours like everybody else.

I would also imagine GrapheneOS would join forces with other competent OS devs plus security/privacy aware hardware manufacturers and release a real competitor device.

I would prefer that grapheneOS not receive any funding from Google. Usually money from them comes with strings attached. Instaed users of graoheneOS should donate. Just imagine if every user gave $10 USD a year?? If you can't do 10 usd, maybe you should look in thr mirror. At least do 1 USD. I do a yearly donation in crypto.

locked the you can't afford to donate $10 in a year is impossible. If you can afford a pixel device, it's not $10 the problem.

Those who supported this OS know who they are. And those who haven't, should look inside and think of generosity of those who did so they can use it for free.

GrapheneOS will probably not build it's own phone before a decade. Just imagine building something similar to the Titan M2 would cost an amount I can't even think.

But for now, if we give them a good amount of money, they will harden GrapheneOS beyond the expectations.
