newbie24689 This feature is in place to prevent people from installing malicious apps and then giving them dangerous permissions. It only does this for 3rd party sources. On Stock OS, you wouldn't get this for an app you downloaded through Play Store. On GrapheneOS, you would even if you got it on Play Store, because on GrapheneOS, Play Store is a 3rd party app store.
There are permissions on Android that serve specific purposes but fundamentally give an app too much control over the device; accessibility permissions are a great example of that. This is just one additional hurdle to protect people.
