I recently set up Curve and made my first purchase in a store with my Pixel 8 under GOS, it worked very well.

I installed it in another system-wide profile, activate NFC, the configuration was relatively simple, I was able to allow my bank to link to Curve, add a debit card and a virtual card.

Then, in settings > connected devices > connection preferences > NFC > Contactless payments > Curve.

The apps Sandboxed google play and Curve have network permissions and notifications, nothing more.

Xtreix I did as well, it works and the payment went through.

But I also noticed something unexpected: while the phone was on the NFC reader, there was a pop up from the bottom of the screen (from Android UI) saying "choose an app to scan with" and there were listed Google Wallet, and something like com.google.wallet (I don't remember it exactly) from private space (that was locked and at rest in that moment).
This pop up was the standard android pop-up "Choose an application to complete an action". But I don't have Google wallet installed on my phone neither in the private space, I guess it's Google Play Service getting in the way but I don't actually now.
I just discarded the prompt and there was no problem, but I guess that if I didn't have the private space there would have been just one google wallet instance to pick automatically and the prompt wouldn't have appeared and the action "Choose an app to scan with" would have been completed automatically! somehow. I wonder what would have happened if this action would have gone through, since I don't have installed Google Wallet.

Did anyone notice a similar behaviour? or maybe you didn't because you don't have the private space and Curve Pay just make a blank call to Google Play Services without anything happening really?

I followed @MetropleX instructions for setting it up.
Google Play Service and Curve Pay just have network and notifications permissions.

userame I use Curve in secondary user and have never had this popup or experienced this behaviour. I don't have a google account logged in, only Play Services installed. I use another user to manage the app update from Play. a

It appeared both quickly before the curve pay UI and also after, when the curve pay screen went away, and it lasted as long as you weren't interacting with it.

I selected the second google wallet and then there was a screen saying "Bring the phone closer to the NFC reader to scan" and the google wallet logo underneath. I did, but of course the transaction on the terminal was already completed so nothing happened.

I cannot for the life of me get this to work! UK user.

Curve is installed on my main profile from the Play Store with Play Services. Both have network permission. Services has sensor permission. Curve has sensor permission. Not connected to a VPN. Curve is set up with my bank card attached. NFC is enabled (phone unlock required) and Curve selected for contactless payments. Security compatibility mode enabled for the Curve app. Curve shows up in the quick menu with a thumbnail of my bank card.

Go to checkout, present phone to reader: BZZT BZZT (card reader fail sound)
Try again: BZZT BZZT
Try opening the Curve app in the foreground: BZZT BZZT

There's no option to enable Curve Pay from within the app, mind. No banner, no button. It just appears in the contactless payment method options.

I'm fresh out of ideas??
Don't say it has to be the Huawei version with the CCP spyware?

Took some while but I finally got it to "work" (everything shows up fine but haven't tried actual payment at a store though). What worked for me is to set it up on the owner profile but I can't put my finger on it why it isn't working in a different profile. Why would that be? I set up google play services and permissions the same way, tried both with and without VPN, NFC is on for both. Are there some other system wide settings/permissions or something that the owner profile has and could mess with it?

I set it up today on pixel 9. It works I already made a payment. The tricky part was enabling NFC without installing play services on owner profile. I found a package manager called 'App manager' on F-Droid, launched settings app through it and I actually had all settings available under secondary profile - please don't patch this.

pampur Yes. On pixel 9 with latest graphene build the curve pay app works but requires google play services. The issue is under secondary profiles you can't access NFC section in system settings as those are exclusive to owner profile along with some others.

This creates a situation where it is possible to make it work but only installed under owner along with google play services which is something I wanted to avoid.

The workaround I found was opening settings app under secondary profile not just by launching the settings app but through a package manager called 'App manager' I found of F-Droid. When launched through the package manager, you can access all system settings under secondary profile and can enable NFC and select which wallet it pulls from.

Let me know which step are you struggling with there may be something I glossed over.

AFFx64 I'm struggling to find NFC settings. There are too many tabs and options. I found with NFC only one entry, but there can't change anything.

pampur from the root settings list, go for second row from the top - connected devices, inside that look at - connection preferences near the bottom. There should be NFC tab second from the top.

On my Pixel9pro I was able to setup Curve and contactless payments in a secondary profile.
I paid contactless for 2 days without problem, then Curve somehow blocked the main virtual card 'for security reason' without further details. It could be some SafetyNet trigger on their side, I don't have more details, I'm waiting for their support to get back to me.

I managed to set up Curve Pay on my Pixel 9a and use contactless payments without any problems. Let's see how it goes.

Good luck! I've been messaging them since June when I received an 'account has been blocked' mail. 11 messages and nothing but automated responses. Payments and Tap & Pay setup no longer work.

I don't get the impression it's anything to do with GOS as the actual payment experience worked just fine prior.

hello all, a question maybe not in the right place.
For those using Curve Wallet, from where do you prefer to get/install the app? Do you use the official Play Store, download an APK from another trusted site, use Obtainium, or any other method? Please share your experience and if certain sources work better for you! Danke!!!
