I heard Pixel 8 and above (or better ARMv9 cores?) have an increased security by hardware memory tagging which seems to be a big deal.
Now, I'm thinking about getting a new phone and was wondering if a similar 'big' security improvement have been made which would favor the newer Pixel's (8a, 9) or the upcoming 9a. Or is there something in the (hardware) pipeline which needs 1 or 2 more iterations/pixel generations to be ready to be shipped?
What I want to avoid is buying a new phone and the next generation ships with a greatly improved hardware security, leaving me frustrated and wishing I withheld my purchase a bit longer (of course, there will always be breaking improvements which haven't been anticipated, what I mean is if there is a foreseeable security improvement on the horizon which would justify to wait a bit longer)
