Profile without call/sms access still showing old text messages

I have an old profile that I use that no longer has access to calls/SMS messages, but it still has old texts from before I disabled that option. How do I remove message history for that profile specifically?

There are special system databases that most apps use that hold SMS messages, call logs and contacts. Access to these databases is what is gated behind the relevant permission. Uninstalling an app or clearing its storage does not clear data which it has stored in these databases.

remove the profile and start over again is the best way. You can do this a hundred times and i swear settings are decidedly added like a program flips a coin for consistency

Are you saying it is possible to remove the messages? And if so, how? The link you provide appears to be with a third party tool. Does that also remove history for the native GrapheneOS SMS app?

Ive never tried but it looks like that its possible to clear the internal SMS database using the app I linked above. Not sure if the Messaging app keeps some/all of the SMS it has seen as well or not and if so for how long.

If they dont disappear you may have to also clear storage from the App info page for Messaging app. Long press the icon to launch the app then you can get to App info
