Is there a way to replace the native camera app or will the new stable Secure Camera app be rolled out in an OTA system update?
I recently installed (Feb 2) GOS build 2025020300 on a Pixel 7a.
Stock Android 15 on refurbished 7a before flashing.
Even with factory reset prior to GOS flashing, running the camera app crashed the phone on stock v15 every single time.
I thought camera hardware might be defective, but apps like Open Camera and ProCam X are stable on stock v15 or GOS.
I need a stable native camera app for third party apps using camera.
Just saw GOS Secure Camera 77 release on Aurora store, Github and APK Mirror
However, installing creates a separate camera app, it does not replace the native camera app, but it is stable.
The App Store shows camera app v77 is installed with no update pending or option to update.
I noticed the native app and recently installed app are both release 77, targetsdk 35 and minisdk 29.
Only difference is the recent apk downloaded from apk mirror has 'play' in filename.

App Info allows force stop only.
No uninstall option.
Is there a way to replace the native app or will this be rolled out in an OTA system update?
Thanks
