Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble activating my eSIM after performing a factory reset on my Pixel 9 which is running GrapheneOS.
Here’s what’s happening:
I was experiencing performance issues on my Pixel 9 (with both a physical SIM and an eSIM), which required daily reboots.
I decided to perform a factory reset to try resolve the issues.
During the reset, I was asked if I wanted to erase the eSIM, I selected No.
After the reset, I was able to set up my primary physical SIM card without issues.
In Settings > Network & Internet, eSIM support is enabled, and both my physical SIM and eSIM providers are listed under SIMs.
However, my eSIM is not enabled.
When I select "Use this SIM", I’m taken through the following steps:
Set SIM preferences: I click "Get Started".
Label your SIMs: both SIMs are already labeled for their respective providers, I click Next.
Set your primary SIMs: I configure which SIM to use for calls, texts, and mobile data, then click Done.
After this, I see a popup that says "Turning on" with a rotating wheel. After about 15 seconds, the popup disappears, and I’m returned to the "Use this SIM" screen, but the eSIM remains disabled.
I’ve tried rebooting the phone multiple times.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or resolve this?
