Google Play Store Keeps Stopping

This morning, I got a popup warning on my Pixel 6 that the "Google Play Store Keeps Stopping" (that's from memory). I tried Sharing the log to Signal (so I could attach it here), but that failed and it went away. I can't figure out how to get the log back to report it (nothing on that error here or on the GOS Issue Tracker on Github). So, I'll just generically ask: has anyone else has seen that?

I'm pretty sure the GOS App Store updated the Google Play Store yesterday. The popup showed up shortly after rebooting the phone this morning.

fid02 No updates available that I can see. I'm just swiping down from within the GOS App Store (can't see any other way to force an update check).

dregrinfuces Is the crash still occurring?

You can use the menu button to change the release channel to Alpha for the Play Store to get the new release we have in the Alpha channel for it.

I've rebooted the phone to see if the crash was related to that. But, everything's fine. Unless the crash keeps happening, I'll just leave it on the normal release channel.

We don't currently know if it's a GrapheneOS-specific issue tied to the sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer or if it was simply an upstream Google Play Store bug since we report all the Google Play app crashes to end users while in the stock OS people don't get user-facing crash reports. We handle other apps the same way as the stock OS but Google Play is a special case to help us develop sandboxed Google Play support.
