ToughDBlue I just installed GrapheneOS last week. Everything has been working great. However, I noticed today that when I enable Airplane Mode and enable Wi-Fi the texts in the SMS app get stuck at sending and I get a red notice saying incoming texts won't download when someone sends me a text. Wi-Fi Calling works fine though. If I disable Airplane Mode texting still doesn't work. I have to restart my phone in order for it to work again. This worked fine on my previous OS.
PaulDavis I've just tried it on my P8P running on Lebara UK. In airplane mode, with WiFi only, vpn on, sending via a modem that is sim based, makes no difference to normal operation. The text landed within 2 seconds.
ToughDBlue I believe this issue existed on the previous OS I had and quite a few people reported it. The devs of that OS had to make some changes to the OS and then it worked again. So it's an AOSP thing for specific carriers that I believe happened when Android 15 QPR1 was released. My carrier is Mint Mobile. Hoping one of the GrapheneOS devs can check this for me
ToughDBlue Looks like OEM iptables were added? This is referenced: https://android.googlesource.com/device/google/gs101/+/fbf009b886cb6391b0833ab147a18c4cf9adda0d
ToughDBlue Well, now sending and receiving texts will randomly stop working and I have to restart the phone for it to work again. Until it decides not to work again
GrouchyGrape ToughDBlue I recently pulled a family member off of Mint and moved them to another provider due to intermittent issues. They use a pixel on stock os. I was tired of attempting to fix APN settings, factory resets, etc to get it to work.
5rlyn GrouchyGrape who did you go with? I'm on Mint and its very annoying that they continually claim that MMS won't work on WiFi Texting
GrouchyGrape 5rlyn We're testing out US mobile. So far, zero complaints. I've had to contact customer support a couple times and they've been very helpful.
