Pixel 6 bootloop after 0% battery

Hello,
A friend's Pixel 6 ran out of battery and now when plugged into the charger the device tries to boot up, gets the "another OS is loading" screen, and restarts. Is there a way to get it to boot up completely or turn it off so the battery can be charged?

cdflasdkesalkjfkdfkjsdajfd I think on that screen, next to the power button, it probably says "Press power button to pause". If so, does pressing the power button pause bootup?

If so, try charging it that way for at least three hours.
