hi. There's a few posts along similar lines and i've been over many of them but no luck so far. If it's ok to put my current situation up to see if any one has any ideas would be great. many thanks in advance

windows 10 laptop, up to date
pixel 6 pro (though identical issue is happening with pixel 6 when i have tried that. i am trying them completely separately. making sure device is disconnected chrome options before trying the other phone restarting laptopn etc)

various high quality USB cables used
USB-c and USB-A slots on laptop used
restarted computer
no other programs running
chrome up to date
only one instance of chrome open
only one tab open to grapheneOS

OEM unlocking enabled
connect device
bootloader unlocked
factory image obtained

then when try to 'Flash release'
'Error: Failed to execute 'requestDevice' on 'USB': No device selected'
states no compatible devices found to connect to in the pop window

weirder still is that i get this same message when i try to download the image after unlocking the bootloader. I can download image fine if i have not paired device before hand to do the bootloader, and then unlock bootloader afterwards. but flashing is as above.

can it be that unlocking the bootloader is making the device unpaired and unfindable? is this possible? what am i missing?

Thanks

    Good day!

flyaway i am trying them completely separately.

Let's change that. Use one of the pixels as the host device and go through the steps as usual. It doesn't matter which one or in what order. If you can build up a successful connection, you will have to tap reconnect on the host device a couple of times as the installation progresses, perfectly normal.

Check for USB drive updates on your Windows, it solved this issue for me

spring-onion thanks. yep it was this, user error. had thought i was following all the points needed, but some how was totally missing that i had to make selections on the phone itself at various times. all sorted now no both phones. cheers
