No more picture upload possible

I use a Nextcloud app to upload pictures to my internal Nextcloud, among other things. Unfortunately, this no longer works and the Nextcloud forum has informed me that some security-relevant settings have been adjusted under Google/Android which now prevent the upload.

Is anyone aware of this? If so, can these settings be changed manually? Which security settings are involved?

akazu mine is still plugging away just fine. I sync more than just photos/videos and I haven't had any issues. Server/app are both up to date

There are a lot of conflicting claims about what works and what doesn't, but even Nextcloud devs acknowledge that Google's change of policy with respect to their app is breaking things. Its unclear to me what they can fix and what they may not be able to.

It seems that the Fdroid version of the app continues to work, the loss of functionality being solely due to a change in Play Store policy.

I'm using the latest F-Droid version and can't confirm that it works with it. Someone from the German Nextcloud forum recommended me to downgrade. I will give it a try with version 3.29.0.
