WiFi Calling Toggle

I would like to have some king of shortcut or widget to toggle WiFi Calling on and off. Any suggestions for a Pixel 6a?

soupslurpr Leaving it on works when you like sitting in one place. But moving around in and out of WiFi and/or cell range doesn't work well. My environment is a weak cell signal that can't be received inside due to metal roof. My Moto has a toggle available in the drop down settings menu on the home screen.

mrtoo ah, have you tried making WiFi preferred over cellular and see if that helps?

soupslurpr Yeah, I tried that. I'll just keep going through the menu until the weather warms a little when I can outside to take calls.

That would be a nice feature! I'm also trying to use cell towers as less as possible hence my phone is almost constantly in airplane mode. I have wifi-calling enabled and have it routed through a vpn tunnel at home. Sometimes i would like to be not 'available' and a toggle for switching on and off wifi calling would certainly be a nice to have convenience feature.

IIRC Wi-Fi calling is always routed outside VPN by Android. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That is true on Android, but you could still route it through a VPN on your router.

f13a-6c3a i'm aware wifi calling bypasses on-device vpn, but at home my phone is routed through a wireguard container on my homeserver.
