Best practices for a GOS Reset

I'm planning to factory reset my GOS at the first time. I definitely don't want to revert to stock android, I simply want to have a fresh GOS once more. The idea behind this is to get rid of any potential malware on the software level. I recently started to worry about this as an ex-but-now-quit F-Droid user.

If I conduct a reset, the airplane mode will be activated upon the first boot? Is there any good practice or advice what you can share with me?

If you are worried about the security implications, why not just install APK verifier and check signatures/reinstall packages from their own releases? Or just delete all packages?

Anyways, calling a factory reset will reset your device, there is not much else to do after or before that.

Or just delete all packages?" - That is all done already. In my mind a reset would be a bigger level of cleaning out any potential malware, which might hanging on the OS level.

" is this needed? I don't believe so regardless" - what do you mean exactly? Reading it back, I'm not sure if my question was clear. What I meant if I reset my GOS, upon the first boot will Airplane mode will be off, even it is on when I starting the process?
