I want to use my GOS pixel 7 with a SOCKS5 proxy AND a VPN together. This is not possible on the phone alone, so I
therefore want to use my laptop as a router for my GOS pixel.
So I am running Mullvad VPN on my laptop (with Linux Mint 22) and I want to share the VPN connection with the GOS phone via ethernet.
The laptop is therefore supposed to serve simply as a VPN router.
To do this, I created a new network connection on the ethernet port (for the phone) of the laptop and under IPv4 settings, I selected "Shared to other computers" for the method. See this guide I used.
Then I connected the phone via ethernet to that port and turned off wifi on the phone.
The connection was immediately established, and I had internet access on the phone, with the connection running through the Mullvad VPN. So everything was successful.
Is this setup secure? Or could something be leaking?
Is the kill switch of the Mullvad VPN also working fine for the phone?
