[Help needed] Pixel 4XL doesn't turn on after full battery discharge

I forgot to charge my Pixel 4XL running GrapheneOS, and it ran out of battery. Now I can't turn it on. It's been charging for more than 8 hours now. I tried holding the power button by itself, and in combination with volume up, and volume down. Tried that multiple times, holding them for 30 seconds to a minute.

I'm considering buying a replacement battery. Would appreciate any advice.

ComprehensiveCut7004 If there is a repair shop in your area, they might be skilled at diagnosing this sort of thing.

ComprehensiveCut7004 Pixel 3 and 4-series phones have that sometimes. What you should try is multiple chargers, even connecting to a less powerful power source (e.g. USB port on a laptop/PC) might bring it back to life. Also, try the full hard reset by pressing all 3 buttons (power, volume up, volume down) simultaneously for around 20 seconds. This simulates a battery disconnect. After that, let it charge for another 2-3 hours.

DeletedUser87 I've tried holding the three buttons like you suggested, and then charged it from a laptop for 3 hours. The phone is still unresponsive. Now trying it with a different cable charging it from a power bank. I somehow suspect the result is going to be the same. I've also previously tried it with an iPhone charger and a yet another cable. (I don't have a native Pixel charger.)

Do you think it's worth trying to buy a replacement battery and install it?

ComprehensiveCut7004 the repair is actually quite complicated if you haven't done it before. There's a lot you can damage inside of the phone, starting from the back glass which needs to be removed. Seeing how the device is EOL, it's not economically sensible to throw money at it and can be accurately described as "flogging a dead horse". Unless you have some valuable data stored on it of course. Instead of buying a battery yourself, you might have a repair shop nearby who could take a look at it at least before committing to the repair cost.
