Put back StockOS back on my Pixel 8. Now it’s saying it’s carrier locked.

OEM is NOT locked. No problems there. I purchased this phone unlocked from Best Buy. Immediately put grapheneOS on it without signing into anything. Connected through Google Fi & Verizon without any issues while on GrapheneOS. Was able to go back and forth on the services without an issue.

Yesterday, I put stockOS on it, now I can’t connect to Verizon. T-Mobile and GoogleFi customer service are sending me back and forth.

I look up the IMEI online and nothing says it’s locked to carrier.

I’m honestly just gonna cut my losses and trade it in to Verizon, but I was curious if I created this problem myself by improperly putting back stockOS, or is it all on the carriers?

What version of stock OS did you go back to ? There are different versions including one specific to Verizon. Wouldn't be surprised if that one is carrier locked

billinmtl I believe I just did the generic one. Android 15. The only ones that popped up were general, T-Mobile, and some Canadian? service.

You think I should just re-do the flash? I removed the non-stock key after flashing instead of before, so maybe that might have done something.

Update. Redoing the flash did not solve this BS.

UPDATE!! I gave up trying to activate my device through the Verizon app. I checked the IMEI on T-Mobile, one of them said they couldn't confirm if it was unblocked or not.

I decided to try to activate on Verizon one last time through their browser (which didn't work before) and I used the IMEI that was unabled to be confirmed unblocked, but Verizon used IMEI2. I hadn't entered that one in though.

That was annoying.
