At the end of the day, only you know about your particular use case, your needs, and how much convenience you're willing to trade for further compartmentalization.
It makes sense to fully understand what user profiles provide (and what they don't provide) and then decide.
It's also important to note that if you decide to incorporate user profiles into your workflow, you should expect some quirks. AOSP hasn't really paid attention to user profiles all that much, since they're not commonly used. I expect this to change in the future, especially with the introduction of the Pixel Tablet, but we're not 100% there yet.
