Bluetooth dropping audio stream

Have a Pixel 7a running Android 15. When streaming audio to an external loudspeaker via bluetooth, after about 10-15 minutes the stream from the audio app is cut off and needs to be re-started. This behaviour is then repeated at a few minutes' intervals. The actual bluetooth connection is maintained though. I don't get this using a Samsung phone using the stock OS, so is it a Graphene thing, a Pixel or Android 15, do you think?
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Son-of-Fred Which app? You might have to grant it unrestricted battery usage. Settings > Apps > See all apps > app name > App battery usage > Unrestricted

Since the update I have noticed a huge boost in Bluetooth range performance.
I use TCL earbuds (14.99) and can leave my phone in my front room and walk outside in the rear garden without loss of sound, before I could not walk from the room without loss of sound.
don't discount the speaker not being the problem, just because its new. my earbuds new out of the box were one update behind when checked via the app they use.

Have you tried updating the firmware of your Bluetooth loudspeaker?

Is your Samsung device running Android 15?

treequell Thanks for replying. The speaker is brand new and I'm not aware of how it could be updated. The Samsung is running Android 14.

fid02 App is BBC 'Sounds'. Will try changing the battery usage if necessary, thanks for the suggestion.

Son-of-Fred In the app supplied by the manufacturer of the Bluetooth device.

For example, I have the Pixel Buds and Ultimate Ears apps installed to update the firmware of those Bluetooth devices when necessary.

Son-of-Fred Ah, BBC Sounds. My audio also drops with that app sometimes too, I have the feeling especially with Bluetooth speakers too. Hadn't given it much thought before, but will keep a watch out. I am not sure what the reason could be.
