After having experimented with a specific initial setup I realized I had a too complicated setup (too many profiles) which makes it hard to adopt grapheneOS. I therefore would like to optimize a bit and move from 5 profiles to 3 + 1 private space.

However, I fail to see how I can install apps (stores like f-droid, aurora, or other apps) that are not in the GrapheneAppStore (or Accrescent, which I could install from GrapheneAppStore).

I did not find anything in this forum, nor did I manage to install it along the official Android Help Article (here: https://support.google.com/android/answer/15341885#install_apps).

In reality i'd like to first install a VPN in the private space before anything else.

Starting to feel really stupid... Can anyone explain me what I got wrong here?

Probably9857 Is this the only way?

I want to install F-Droid in the private space. I already have it in the owner profile, but couldn't find a way to copy it to the private space. I'd like to avoid simply downloading via Vanadium into the private space without the opportunity to verify the APK (as I can on my desktop via GPG).

      parbleu

Sure, there are several ways that are slightly more complicated.

However, the first thing to understand is that you don't need to worry about verifying, because the OS won't allow you to install anything other than the same version of the app, signed by the same key.

      But if you insist...

If you already have the apk file in the owner profile, you could use an app like https://github.com/lmj0011/save-on-device to share the apk to your private space, then install from there.

You could probably also do the same thing with a USB drive. Or the Inter Profile Sharing app from Accrescent.

      Cool, thanks!
