when I tap unlock, my phone automatically provides me with the correct method of entry.
When I use a pin, it provides the pin pad, when I use a fingerprint it provides the fingerprint icon to touch.
Having stolen the phone, it now provides the assailant with a handy crib sheet on method of entry.
why not have, tap unlock and be presented with a list of all four methods of unlock, pin, passphrase, fingerprint, or fingerprint and pin. you know which one to choose, the assailant has to guess, then waste time on the wrong input method, while the auto reboot ticks down. just a thought...

Just setup the second factor authentication pin after finger print unlock. Then instead of needing to choose the unlock method, your phone actually has multiple methods

There wouldn't be a benefit to this, because the secure element already limits the amount of attempts you can make in a given time period. Use a sufficiently secure PIN (6+ digits) and unless they are extremely lucky with their guesses, they are not going to be bruteforceing it before your auto-reboot happens. If you use a password then it's even less likely that they would manage to get in before auto-reboot. If you're worried about them being able to bypass the throttling, then use a secure passphrase that can't be bruteforced within your lifetime and you're probably safe.
