Moving over from iOS, To-Do App working with Apple Reminders

I am newly moving to Graphene form iOS. I use a MacBook and work with Apple Reminders. So far Apple Reminders is the only aspect I did not yet find a proper solution for. What I would like to have:

Cross Plattform To-Do/Reminders that work on GrapheneOS (mobile) AND with Apple Reminder App (notebook)
No need for encryption, as long as it's something trustworthy and not Google/Microsoft

I have heard of tasks.org, but did not yet get my head around how I would set this up. Anyone having a simpler solution working on their end?

aop I've been using Lunatask, and it's pretty great. End-to-end encrypted too with mobile and desktop apps.

I will be surprised if Apple reminders can be synced outside of Apple's ecosystem (assuming that is what you are asking). But maybe I will be surprised...???

Well, i need to clarify my question :-) I am looking for a solution that works with the Application "Reminders" from Apple. E.g. it is possible to integrate Microsoft To-Dos into the Application "Reminders" from Apple. However, this obviously will result in "Microsoft To Dos"-Tasks rather than "Apple Reminder-Todos". Not sure If I am making it any clearer?

aop you are looking for an host that provides reminders and is caldav capable, then you are going to login in you MacBook using such standard protocol. you just have to find an host (eg: nextcloud) and then login in "internet account" > caldav account, in MacOS, and on Android in a client that supports the very same protocol: I highly suggest tasks from tasks.org

Thank you - I had already a look at Lunatask. However, as I understand Lunatask, it works on iOS and MacOS as a native app, but does not integrate with Apple Reminders App, correct?

Alright, so you propose a solution where the hosting is done independently from the actual apps. Which then also gives the flexibility to integrate it wherever I want it. I was playing around with DavX5 and tasks.org, but this somehow felt clunky/unreliable. Can you personally recommend nextcloud?

aop yeah it's it's own native app.

aop tasks from tasks.org can support login to caldav account directly in the app, so there's no need for davx5. And yes, I'm in you very same situation and so far it has been the most flexible solution, you actually never log into the host, it is just a backend for synching. Overall I recommend nextcloud only for tasks.

I use nextcloud. You log into the MacOS reminders application with your nextcloud CalDAV address. For Android syncing you can use jtxboard.

For notes I use nextcloud notes on the phone and an application called "Notable" on macOS.

MacOS also allows you to sync contacts via nextcloud as well.

Highly recommend taking the time to set up your own self hosted server if you like the convinence of an "ecosystem" while maintaining some semblance of privacy.
