Google photos unlimited storage

Hi,
I read that you can have unlimited storage in the Google photos drive if you have a Google pixel 5 or older. My question is if you can still have this feature if you install GrapheneOS.
Maybe in one of the profiles.

Magic Problem is Graphene only works now on Pixel 6 and newer.

This is a wrong approach where some users mistaken using GrapheneOS with avoiding Google at all costs. While the OS is designed with private features, the user is free to use their phone any way they want and we can't dictate what the correct use is. Moreover, users who decide to use Google apps and services will still benefit from GrapheneOS features and overall OS privacy.

Standard Google drive storage has for a while been 15GB. Can be expanded by upgrading to Google One.

I believe you can have unlimited storage with G Photos with newer phones but the photo quality is reduced.

You'll have to make sure your uploaded photos are not in original quality, i.e. less or equivalent to 16Mpixel, FullHD videos up to certain size to not count towards total allowed storage. Make no mistake, all media gets scanned so Google can present you with suggestion for deletion of "imperfect" media (I bet AI is hard at work there).

@yore although your statement about overall privacy using GrapheneOS with sandboxed Google Play may be true, this advance as opposed to stock is marginal at best. Many new users (and they don't seem to be shy to voice their opinion regarding this on here) may wish to skirt using it altogether to maximize privacy benefits GrapheneOS brings.

I use aurora store to get banking apps, or when just don't have alternative to open source ones - but my (and everyone's should be) goal is giving mega corporations as little data as possible.

By "overall OS privacy" I was referring to the lack of telemetry and phoning home that Google does on stock OS.

The question is: What does OP want?

And based on what we know, there is no mention of those things. But only OP can tell us.
