According to the function description Duress PIN/Password: "..duress PIN/Password that will irreversibly wipe the device (along with any installed eSIMs).."
Excellent function, but in addition to eSIM, IMEI and possibly some other identifiers are also used in device identification
The question is, in addition to eSIM, does the information there (IMEI and other identifiers) change?
In the case when an intruder has physical access to the phone, if the SIM card is physically inserted - there are no options. In any case, all information will be available. But when an eSIM is used - it is possible not only to erase all information about it, but also to change the identifiers inside the device, so that it is generally unclear how it was used
If this is not done, then using these identifiers, such as IMEI and others, even if the eSIM is deleted, it will still be possible to obtain all the information about what kind of SIM card it was and how it was used
