Can't Set Brave Search as Default for Vanadium

Hi all,

I'm trying to set Brave Search as default on my GOS mobile and tablet to test it out, but following the steps of:

Not being in incognito
Making a search on Brave (eg. Test)
Then going to Settings > Search Engine

Brave Search doesn't appear as a selectable search engine. I also tried this with SearXNG on both devices to see if it was a problem being caused by Brave, but SearXNG appeared for both with no problems (with queries set to "GET").

Has anyone had the same problem and know a fix? Thanks :)

Disable JavaScript in your browser settings
Run a search with Brave Search
Brave Search should now show up under recently visited search engines
After selecting Brave, turn back on JavaScript

jarell Thanks for that! It worked on my phone, but it won't work on my GOS tablet. Any reason you suspect?

EDIT: After vigorously attempting this on the tablet, it worked :) thank you!

jarell Thanks a lot for this! Just had a fresh install and this worked. To add to this: You can find Javascript settings under Settings > Site settings > Javascript (not Javascript JIT). Had to Google where to find this settings just now ^^".

Not sure how Java script being on or off works in this case. For me it was the fact that you have to type in the site http address directly into the address bar before doing a search (i.e. not entering with a link from another search engine).
