Hello, Greetings!
My first message here on the forum.
I'm a new user on this forum, just installed grapheneos for the very first time this week. So far, I am loving it and I am all thankful to all devs for their efforts towards such awesome project.
I wanted to provide some feedback on the eSIM toggle ON/OFF feature. On stock OS, I was using 1 physical SIM and 1 eSIM. After the grapheneos installation, the toggle 'Settings -> Network and Internet -> eSIM support' was already OFF. Yet, I was able to use my eSIM which was configured on stock OS 8-10 months back without any issue. So, I did not turn it on. But, yesterday when I turned OFF the eSIM, I did not know that turning OFF eSIM when that toggle 'Settings -> Network and Internet -> eSIM support' is OFF will erase the eSIM completely. It displayed no warning about it. The eSIM entry was there with toggle next to it turned OFF. But, the number and all configuration inside the eSIM setting was missing. I came to know about this when I wanted to turn ON the eSIM again as I could not turn it ON. I had to go the nearby carrier shop and had to get a new eSIM for the number.
Personally, I think it would be better for all users to have a pop-up warning when they want to turn off any eSIM when eSIM support toogle is off, maybe saying : to not to loose eSIM configurations, please turn ON eSIM support toggle present at 'Settings -> Network and Internet -> eSIM support'. It makes sense to keep that always ON when using eSIMs, but a warning message as mentioned would help mitigate edge cases like I experienced.
I think it was my fault in the very first place and may be I am asking something stupid. Anyways, all thanks for such a wonderful OS.
