Apps faling to send SMS

I resetted my P6a, which is running graphene os for more than two year, now when some of my banking apps which send sms to authenticate the identity is not working, basically these apps sends an sms from my sim card which i have registered to the bank to verify and later it allows me to login to the app.
there are 4 banking apps does think thing and same issue for all of them. is there any thing i can make it to work.
Sandboxed google play is installed, apps have all the required permissions with exploit protection comparability mode enabled.

I am also facing the issue from past week or so on the same phone. The build number is 2024121200

de0u https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sbi.upi is one of them. Another one which used to work few months back is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icicibank.pockets. I can see the message in Messaging app with the text 'Not sent. Touch to try again'. The message is sent without any problems if I try manually.

jj01 Try adding SMS Permissions to the Google Play service, after addi it I was make to make these apps work. After the app is configured we can revoke the permission from play services.

secrec Not sure. I am not able to find the option to enable restricted settings though. I only see the icon to open the app in the top right corner of the app.

secrec I think that's for the accessibility settings, doesn't related to this issue.

One thing you could try is to install the Google Messages app, and set it as the default SMS app.

I have once or twice encountered apps that expect that app to be installed for SMS two factor verification.

treequell no luck. I see same behavior with Google Messages as well - seeing the message with warning 'Not Sent'.
