Damaged apk file from Auroa Store

Hello,

I just wanted to install the "Choise" app (Choise is a cryptocurrency company) from Aurora Store, normaly I have no problems with Aurora, but as the download was complete and I wanted to install the App, it says "damaged apk file" and something about "Downgrade". It does not install. A restart of the phone doesn't help.

I installed other apps today and it worked fine. I tried to install it in three profiles, in the admin profile, personal profile and in a profile with sandboxed Google. Nothing worked.

I can't believe, that the apk is damaged on "Aurora" (or better Google Play Store), because it would fixed very fast?

Do you know how to fix the problem?

I can't reproduce your issue it installed just fine.

Are you sure you haven't missed something that may be causing the installation to fail?

Also it might be helpful to cause the error again on purpose if possible so you can give more context on what it exactly it says.

I would start by contacting the developer of said app, tbqh.

GL, tho. Look, I detest the Play Store review cesspool/section as much as anybody. But doze reviews doe! Months and months aaaand months of all/only 1* reviews and in coherent English, no less. Does not bode well for past/potential users of "Choise".

@BuffaloStance: Why I should avoid that, I trust Choise and now I want to install their app.

Choise.com Invalid or corrupted APK file INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE: Downgrade detected: Update version code 711 is older tham current 2067689

What does that mean? My system says it's up to date.

Your error message is extremely clear. This is plain English...

You already have an app with this id (com.crypterium) installed either on main profile or another profile, and it's trying to install an older version of it.

Uninstall whatever app is taking up that id and try again.

@Ammako: I never had this app before, not as Choise was called Crypterium and not an older version of Choise. I tried the first time.
I understand the text itself, with "what does that mean?" I mean "How I can solve that?" to be clear.

But I found another solution: I found out, that I can change the update version code manually (the three dots on the top right corner if you are on the app site in the Aurora Store) and I changed it from version 711 to 2067689.

Changing the request version code is a effective way of fixing downgrade issues as it can help ensure you get a more recent version.

It seems like something you had installed prior was conflicting with the app installation and that changing the version code manually likely caused you to receive a version newer enough to avoid downgrading which is what triggered the error in the first place.

What's strange about this though is the fact you claim you didn't have this app installed before so in that case no downgrade protection should have been enforced in the first place.

I don't know enough about certificate pinning to feel comfortable with making any strong conclusions.

All I could suggest is make sure you are on the latest version of aurora store. And if so maybe somebody else more experienced could help you out more on it.

Hm, with my solution, I could download and install the app, but have another problem now: If I try to log in in my account, I get an error message:
Certificate pinning failure! Peer certificate chain: sha256/y4an.....
After y4an comes a long line with letters and numbers like a fingerprint or something.

I never had this error, what can I do about that? I again tried it in the admin profile, personal and profile with Goolge Play.

Thank you for your help.
On the start page of the app I can tip "Try the App". If I do so, a red message pops up and says Problems with the internet connection and it keeps on the start page.
Network access is grantet in the options.
The system has internet connection and open sites for example works fine.
