I've encountered inconsistencies with obtaining location data when taking photos using Google Photos. Additionally, I've noticed that Organic Maps takes some time to determine my GPS location, ranging from 15 seconds to 2 minutes.

There might be a correlation between these two issues, possibly stemming from the same underlying problem. I've observed that once Organic Maps successfully determines my location, Google Photos can then save the GPS information to the photos without any issues.

If a device is relying on actual GPS, as opposed to Google's location service (or, eventually, an open network-based location service), it needs to get signals from multiple satellites for a minute or so continuously from each one before it can determine a location. If the device has attenuated sky access (such as through a roof) then it often takes longer.
