Pixel 6a starts when charging

Hello,
I use Graphene OS on a Pixel 6a for some time now and since a few months the phone powers up by start of charging when it was turned off before. I can't remember, that this was from the beginning of using Graphene OS, so I think it can be set in the options. Is that right, I didn't find these settings. I would to avoid that, if it's turned off it should not switch on automatically.

I have the same behaviour on my pixel 6a.

It is an iPhone like behaviour. Imho it is plain stupid.
To charge it powered off you need to plug it before turning it off.

NetRunner88 if you ever break your power button, you will be very glad that it's able to start from the power cable alone.

But can I give my own opinion ? Been with an android phone since the Samsung Galaxy GT-i7500 with Android 1.5 which was quickly updated to 1.6

Like yeah, old in the game, fabulous piece of hardware for that time.
All day everyday since 2009 using various Android phones.

I had Samsung, Motorola, Tinno, Xiaomi, Huawei and never broke a power button. Ever.
But lost a phone once yeah. Drove on an another one. Yeah because .. Don't ask a stupid human why he is stupid.
If I can retrieve the info about for how many pushes buttons are certified..
I am not in an ultra consumption ultra capitalism mood but I believe I will change my P6A I bought at the release for a P9 or P10 or even a P11 before the EOL date for sure and I am conviced it will not have a broken power button.
Before the P6A I was daily using a Huawei P30 Pro (which I bought in 2019).
To sum it up, your answer is totally valid.
Like really, I have never thought of that.
But I am not buying it.

NetRunner88 having worked in a repair shop, that makes a real difference. Maybe Samsung phones are the better example where you can jumpstart the phone by plugging the cable in and out within a second (battery needs some charge of course).

Hm, ok, thanks for the answers. I think, I will simply accept that... One day I saw, after plugging the phone in, that it started, powered off, started, powered off and so on, because it hasn't enough load to keep the phone started. I thought, that is not good for the phone and could be damaged faster. But I then stopped the booting with the button.
