Changed to esim an started receiving "Messenger verification code" SMS SMSs.

Hi - I recently migrated a physical SIM into an eSIM.

39' after receiving an email from the telecom operator I installed the eSIM.

2h45' after, I started receiving these SMSs (they come with a code starting with "G-" ), 9 of them in a 11 hour span.

Has anyone spotted a similar behaviour ? Is this just a coincidence ?

Also, the email from the telco had and the mobile number and the eSIM QR code and the eSIM's PIN & PUK.

Is this a common practice to put everything on an email ? or is the telco incurring in unsecure behaviour ?

Is it an "internet only" e-sim, from some virtual and not mainstream operator?

I used eSIMs multiple times, I've never gotten PIN and PUK for them. AFAIK SIM producers send the PIN+PUK to operators over e-mail in plaintext, so this is "normal".
