very nice, is also a rehaul of gallery app going to be deployed?
Great update! Nice design upgrade, the audio record mute button is handy and even the bug that you couldn't take photos in night mode seems to be fixed.
Really appreciate your awesone work!
grapheneos-enthusiast very nice, is also a rehaul of gallery app going to be deployed?
Here's a quote from the GrapheneOS account in the chat rooms yesterday:
a bunch of major improvements to our Camera app's features are planned in a few months including video frame rate control, H.265 video, RAW DNG images and a full rewrite of our in-app gallery with Compose but it has been deferred for a few months since the person doing on it needs to focus on non-work stuff for 2 months, but it will be very actively developed again after that
don't get worried about it just because it stays mostly the same for the next 2 months after this release, major changes are coming and in-progress already

fid02 very nice
fid02 We were talking about the in-app gallery within our Camera app rather than AOSP Gallery. We haven't decided what to do about AOSP Gallery yet, but we'll probably replace it with a fork of a more modern app rather than trying to overhaul it. AOSP Contacts, AOSP Dialer and AOSP Files, etc. will get overhauled rather than replaced. We haven't decided what to do about AOSP Messaging yet since there are no good alternatives available to start from instead, and it's quite a limited/outdated app.

Thank you for this clarification!
GrapheneOS It's all relatively good.
With the team you have, you should probably focus on core os, the things you understand and nobody else can do. (imho)
The gallery, dialers etc., everybody can choose some. Who needs secure messaging will use something else than plain SMS.
The only thing I am missing in phone/contacts is the ability to remember SIM 1/2 for a contact and maybe export import of blacklisted numbers.
If I toggle on Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) via "enable EIS" in the video mode of the camera app, the image appears shakier than if I deactivate it.
The behavior occurs using the main camera, the telephoto camera and at zoom levels in between both of them. The wide-angle camera does not seem to be affected (the mentioned behavior is maybe also less noticeable visually at wide-angle level).
My Pixel 9 Pro's main and telephoto cameras appear to have Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).
Is EIS maybe not compatible with OIS or is this a bug?
Clear app's storage & cache and reboot the device have made no difference.

Thinking about it again, it makes more sense to open a separate discussion for this:
