Desktop mode mouse no longer functions on desktop

I'm on pixel 9. Mouse seems to be working fine on my end with the "Alpha" early updates.

The bluetooth keyboard requires a right click with the mouse on the forum here to activate the cursor to type. I don't mind that.

I'm typing this now in desktop mode.

Just to make it clear: the link above allows a virtual mouse - so your phone screen acts like a touchpad.
The Fossify Gallery has options to enable in Full Screen the change of Media by a click (instead of a swipe) - this will replace the rather limited build-in gallery app.
Both together gives me the chance to present photos w/o additional hardware on bigger screens (except USB-C -> HDMI cable).
