No Spotify audio on Android Auto

Hey all

Was able to follow this guide to get the Spotify app to show up in Android Auto.

The app displays on the cars screen, displays current song runtime, accepts controls, and all the other expected behaviours; but does not output any sound.

Phone is connected via USB-C cable. Wireless Android Auto and Unknown sources are enabled in the developer settings. Permissions for Wired and Wireless are enabled in the Sandboxed Google Play Android Auto settings as well as the audio reroute permission

To note; audio output works fine when making calls through Android Auto

Spotify updated to version 9.0.0.487. No change to issue

If I disable the "Allow to reroute audio from device to the car" setting the phone speakers will play whatever Spotify is playing while connected to Android Auto

Solved.

For some reason this all hinged on the Microphone permissions?

I enabled all permissions for Android Auto and it started working. Began turning off permissions until it stopped working again and determined that with Microphone permissions enabled it works and without it, it doesn't.

It now behaves correctly with "Wireless Android Auto" turned off in the developer settings and "Allow permissions for wireless android auto" set to off in Sandboxed Google Play setting

Very weird but hopefully this'll help anyone else with the same issue.
