Afternoon all.

After a few hard resets on my Pixel 8 Pro, i needed to install GrapheneOS again over a clean stock OS. I have tried on 2 occasions now to use the web installer, but the download package for the Graphene Husky File gets to 99% and then shows an error.

This means my phone is reset to stock again and i have no GrapheneOS, which is frustrating. I am hesitant to try again until i understand why this is happening and fix it. Luckily it only takes 30 minutes to get all my stuff working again, but i would rather not do it all again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Twindad You need to elaborate. There isn't a "Graphene Husky File." Providing as much detail as possible will allow others to better assist you.

It would help if the error explained itself. It just says unexpected error or something similar and I have no desire to wipe my phone to give you a screenshot.

Best I can give you is the package, which i have downloaded both from the web installer but will not flash.

Pixel 8 pro 2024120700, which I believe has now been updated to 2024120900, though I'm to afraid to test the new version.

I get the feeling a bit frustrated with this, but what ErnestThornhill was getting at, in my opinion, is that its hard to get pointed help if you were unable to grab an error code that appeared along with "unexpected error".

There should have been a string of text following that. That can help the forum say " hey try this ". But without it then it will be questions of; are you using a recommended OS on your computer and recommended browser? Along with is there enough memory on your computer.

Those are things I have heard produce unexpected errors. I believe most recently was a user trying to install with Vivaldi browser. Just a heads up if you're using Brave, make sure shields are off.

Hopefully someone else can offer more specific guidance than I've offered.

Thanks. I appreciate there isn't a lot to go on. The web installer didn't give any error code or additional info.

I am using appropriate os etc.. and haver plenty of space. Maybe just a weird glitch and I have to bite the bullet and try the new update, which will be a different download package.

Thanks all for commenting. When I try it again I will take screenshots

I bit the bullet and tried again. Success!

I also tried install of my Chromebook and not my work windows pc. If I can think of anything that may have caused the issue it may have been some security implemented by my work to prevent the download finishing... Who knows.

I'm just glad it worked and GOS is much improved from my last experience in terms of ease of use. Feels secure, is secure, looks great, satisfied.
