I started with Graphene on Pixel 8a recently, and was impressed enough to finally get a tablet back into my repertoire with the Pixel Tablet.
I have noticed a strange quirky difference between phone and tablet for managing user profiles.
On phone, swiping down two times gives the little circle icon. Tap it and you get the "Select user" dialog, which has all the profile icons in a grid, and a "Manage users" tab at the bottom left. That brings you to the user profile manager, obviously.
On the tablet, swiping down 2 times gives me a menu to choose the user profile, but the "Manage user" button is absent.
Also, only on the tablet, each profile has a label on its home screen. I see button in the top right corner, the person-in-a-circle-icon with the name right next to it (e.g. red owner icon with the name, "Owner"). If I tap that label, I also get the user profile chooser, but still missing "Manage user" button.
I can access the user management tool from the tablet's Owner>Settings menu - laborious - so its not like I am screwed. But its damn annoying.
Just to be really annoying, about 30 minutes ago on the tablet, I somehow managed to get the same user profile chooser menu as the phone, with the "Manage users" button. Dammed if I know how I did that, because I can't get it back.
Can someone explain
a) is it just me?
b) is there a setting I can activate?
c) if this is a design feature... why?
d) (bonus points) why can't we have that profile label on the phone, too? Its useful to quickly check which profile you're using (if you have functional overlap).
