Wi-Fi keeps turning off.

Hi,

My Wi-Fi keeps turning off when not in use. I have a Pixel 8 using android version 15. Essentially when I’m on Wi-Fi and browsing the web, everything is fine, but when I’m not browsing, the Wi-Fi turns off after some amount of time. It has been doing this for a while, but appears to have gotten worse. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

In Settings > Security & privacy > Exploit protection > Turn off Wi-Fi automatically.... Do you have this feature enabled?

It should only turn off when disconnected, but maybe you're losing your connection long enough for this to trigger?

I do have that turned on to turn off after 1 minute. I love this setting for when I leave the house and don’t turn off my Wi-Fi. My issue seems different as the Wi-Fi will turn off after random amounts of time, 15, 20, 30 minutes. It’s tough know the exact time for sure.

Well, just to be sure, I would suggest setting that to Never for a while and see if the issue still occurs.

Ouchie One minute is very short. I can imagine that might be tripping sometimes when it shouldn't. What happens if the setting is adjusted to a longer time interval?

Ok so I set it to five minutes and it seemed to work overnight. I will keep my eye on it today/tonight to make sure it is still working. I appreciate the help!

If this solves it, i find it very interesting that there seems to be 1 minute intervals where the internet appears to go out.

Ouchie do you have auto reboot set on your "router"? If so and it's set to reboot every night, that's probably long enough to trip the one minute timer.

Wi-Fi stayed on for night 2. Thanks for all the help! Looks like changing from 1 minute to a longer time worked!
