System backup fails and causes tailscale to disconnect

Hi,

I'm experiencing some issues lately with backups that were not happening previously.

The backup process gets to about 99%, hangs there for a bit, and then fails. When it fails, I see that tailscale VPN is disconnected.

Not sure what's going on, but this has been occurring for about the last two weeks, give or take.

I experienced a similar issue with mullvad VPN. For a while I noticed sporadic, seemingly random notifications telling me my VPN was disconnected. (System notifications mind you, the persistent mullvad notification still said "connected").

I just correlated it to the backup and found this post. Running the backup reliably disconnected the VPN. The notification about disconnection came exactly when the backup reached mullvad.

I was able to fix the issue by excluding the mullvad app from the list of apps to be backed up, maybe this will also work with tailscale.

I suspect that is not technically an issue, as it might be beneficial for an app not to be running while its data is being backed up. You will also notice the same behaviour with any app that is being backed up by Seedvault; it's not specific to VPN apps.
