Wifi connection constantly dropping

Ever since I started using the new Private Space feature, where I also have the MullvadVPN app installed, I keep getting 2 notifications, 1 for each app, saying "Disconnected from always-on VPN". This seems to be happening at least every hour. I don't believe I've changed any other settings apart from adding and configuring the Private Space.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

I should mention, I've also noticed a bug where when I exit apps in the Private Space, it sometimes takes me into a weird area that seems to be the private space itself? Like the homescreen and app drawer is populated exclusively with my Private Space apps and all my main user apps have disappeared. This does often seem to conincide with my connection dropping and never reconnecting, but not always.
