GrapheneOS Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just want to get some clarification. I'm assuming Graphene doesn't want to support DHCPv6 due to it being of limited use to the majority of users? Because
The people who want DHCPv6 are ISPs wanting to give people a single IPv6 address instead of a proper /64 block.
Is not entirely accurate.
Sure an ISP with a subpar engineering team who doesn't understand IPv6 will hand out /128s. But DHCPv6PD is needed in order to receive a routed, subnettable prefix. Also, if using a graphene device in an enterprise environment (where the company owns the device), certain aspects of IPAM and administration can be made a lot easier with DHCPv6 support.
Lastly if Google was enforcing SLAAC for security reasons, then they'd support SEND protocol instead of just NDP. But as far as I'm aware, they don't.
I completely understand if this is an issue that the Graphene team simply does not wish to tackle, but there are justifiable use cases/needs for DHCPv6 support.
