My GOS Pixel 6 Pro bricked end of October 2024. I was not using Google framework or G anything on it. Phone was on, about 75% charged, calling/texting off and on while traveling, Organic Maps guiding a route, dash mounted, usb cable in and charging. I looked away for a couple minutes, looked back, and the phone was black screen.
Shortly thereafter arrived at destination and nothing I did would restart. Long press power (nope), Long press power & holding volume up (nope), Long press power & holding volume down (zip), usb in, usb out, almost 2 months later still dead.
Luckily I carry a matching P6P with GOS that I was using on WiFi, no sim, running google services & play apps (waze, google maps, banking, etc). I had a backup of everything from 3 weeks earlier except texts (SeedVault didn't catch my texts!) Anyway, I wiped that P6P, loaded fresh GOS, moved my sim over, configured it, restored my backup, and was back online that evening.
I strike this up to a simple hardware failure since the net is fairly quiet on this issue ... but figure I'd add a data point to this thread. If anyone has any ideas about reviving the dead one please let me know!
