Howdy!
Yesterday I've proudly become a GOS user and cant find a solution of a bug.
The so called AOD, after I click the lock button, works only 1 time out of 3. Usually the screen just blacks out like AOD setting would be off.
Is that a bug of android 15, or me doin' some sort of setting conflict?

Newb you did try the obvious steps of disabling and reenabling the feature and restarting the phone? Do you use any kind of camera cover or (privacy) screen protector?

Newb in that case, I'm a little out of ideas. The AoD works fine for me every time, unless I block the ambient light sensor. Can you check if auto brightness works for you? You can test that by setting brightness to maximum and cover the top of the screen with your hand, to see if it goes down when doing so.

Newb Did you happen to disable animations in either Accessibility or in developer settings? I know from experience the AOD won't work properly with those settings changed.

Settings - Accessibility - Color and motion - Remove animations

make sure that's unchecked/off and see if it works.

          flighty_sloth I'll be damned 😄
I really did disable all animations, transitions and all that teenage stuff in dev mode!
Restored only animation duration scale part to .5x and voila, aod is like new. Even fingerprint icon appeared 😅
          YOU DA BEST DUDE !!

Free annoying tip : avoid using dev mode.

          Sorry.

Before any dev take a look here and eat you alive..

NetRunner88 I somehow knew animation reduction from dev mode rather than accessibility settings 🤷‍♂️
And used it in my previous experimental phone with custom rom, to smoothen experience on the superbudget slow phone 🙃
