Flimo Hi there I’m a freshman here regarding Graphene OS. A week ago I left my iPhone and bought a Pixel 7a android version 15 phone with preinstalled graphene os. I now discovered that the Google Services Framework App is missing in the Apps Apps folder. My friend has a Pixel 6 / android 14 phone and there it is showing up. Has something changed with android 15 or is this a bug? How best should I proceed to get it back on my phone? Any suggestions and/or links are highly appreciated Thank’s very much! Flimo
DeletedUser87 Flimo GSF was removed in Android 15 (for new installs) on GrapheneOS. The functionality is taken over by Play Services entirely now.
Dumdum Link to relevant release notes for reference: https://grapheneos.org/releases#2024101600 Sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer: add stubs to fully remove the need for the Google Services Framework (GSF) app for fresh installs of sandboxed Google Play, which has been removed as a dependency in our app repository for Android 15+, but it should still be kept for existing installs to avoid potential issues
greensabath It seems GSF is needed for RCS setup. Trying to get RCS to work on GrapheneOS as-is is failing, so that leads me to believe that not all GSF functionality is present in the GSF Stub. Has anyone gotten RCS working on GrapheneOS w/ the GSF stub?
