Unable to access call forwarding options on eSIM after inserting pSIM

Hello,

I have on my Pixel 8a 2 sims, one physical and the other is eSIM.
When setting everything up the first time, I provisioned the eSIM first.
I was able to access the call forwarding option in the default dialer for the eSIM and make some changes.
I then inserted the pSIM and configured it.
Now I am able to access the call forwarding option in the default dialer for the pSIM, but not for the eSIM, I get an error that says something like (translated) : Network error or SIM card error.
I tried to remove the pSIM and access again the call forwarding option for the eSIM, but I get the same error.
I also tried (while having the pSIM removed) to delete the cache of the default dialer app, and test again for the eSIM, but I still get the same error.
I found some USSD codes for my eSIM carrier, but I also get an error when trying to execute them with the default dialer app.
I tried to use the Fossify Dialer to check, but I wasn't able to find the call forwarding option in this dialer. The USSD codes also give an error on this dialer for the eSIM.
I also looked for an app that checks the call forwarding status and make changes to it, but I wasn't able to find something relevant.

I just need to change the call forwarding options once (it is not an action that I will do often), but it being an eSIM, I can't get it out of the device and insert it on another, just to make the change (as I will be able with a pSIM).

So what are my options now, knowing that my carrier support just tells me to use the settings in my phone to change the call forwarding options.

Are others with 1 pSIM and 1 eSIM able to display the call forwarding options for the eSIM on their GrapheneOS phones?

Nobody uses multiple SIMs with their GrapheneOS phone?
I just want to make sure that the fact that I can't execute any USSD codes on the eSIM line is not some configuration issue on my side. If somebody else confirms, I could open an issue for this.

The GrapheneOS forum includes people all around the world, with different time zones and sleep schedules. Sometimes an answer is immediate, but sometimes waiting a day or two is more productive than "bumping" a thread after less than 12 hours.

Thanks for your confirmation. I don't understand where the problem could be.
I have my old GrapheneOS Pixel 5 with a pSIM from the same carrier, and I can check the call forwarding options on it, so I don't think it is a carrier issue. I was able also the check the call forwarding options on the eSIM before inserting the pSIM, so it used to work. But I can't figure out what changed exactly after inserting the pSIM, to revert it.

My pSIM is from one carrier and my eSIM is from another (I'm also in Europe).
@shirley : is it the same for you, or you have the same carrier on both the pSIM and eSIM?
I think the problem relies on the OS, as I wasn't able to execute any USSD codes on the eSIM with the Fossify Dialer either (so shouldn't be a dialer issue).

Anybody has any idea on what else I could try, as I am stuck.

Works fine here, on both SIMs. Pixel 7a, owner profile, latest GrapheneOS release. (I'm in Europe.)

Malakai My two SIMs are from different operators. I don't really know much about this stuff. Maybe, if you operator allows it and you have another eSIM-compatible phone, you could try to transfer the eSIM to the other phone temporarily and try modifying the call forwarding from there?

Just coming back with information as I solved it (maybe it will help others).
It seems that for the carrier of my eSIM, if I want to change the forwarding options, it needs to connect on 2G. But I had 2G disabled shortly after setting up the eSIM (that is why I remembered it was working at some point). Enabling 2G back, allowed me to change the forwarding options.
I don't have this behavior on the carrier of the pSIM. 2G was also disabled for the pSIM and I was able to change the forwarding options. It seems to be specific to the eSIM carrier.
Just a thing to keep in mind.
