no internet connection if using guest WiFi

Hi,

I have been using grapheneOS since years, and always with a Private DNS DoT set up.

On my home network I have the 2 default WiFi ESSIDs , the second one being the guest one.

I cannot find, within the router settings, any important settings I can toggle and as well as that are different from one and the other.

I have always successfully used the guest one due to IoT devices being set up with the default/main ESSID, otherwise some of them are unable to use the internet. So I have "relegated" IoT devices using the default ESSID and me, for privacy reason, using the guest one.

Since few months, without changing anything, my grapheneOS phone has the following issue when using the guest WiFi ESSID:

it connects to the internet and for few seconds I surf, then it suddenly stops, I am no longer able to surf;
to fix this I either have to connect to the default ESSID or I have to disable the Private DNS (removing DoT) and use the default ISP/router one:

I need help to troubleshoot this issue as I wish to go back using the guest WiFi ESSID/network with DoT.

darkson Do you have your phone set to use a random MAC address per connection? If you use the same wifi every time, then it's possible you've used up all of the IP addresses.

You can try changing (from the owner profile) Settings > Network & internet > Internet > Saved networks > *your guest network* > Privacy to "Use per-network randomized MAC" then restart your router to see if you can connect to the internet again.

some weeks ago I have "discovered" the cause of the issue, which is gladly not related to my GrapheneOS.

The guest WiFi network I connect to recently has a difference frequency which, contrary to the main one, does not have the strength enough to go through some thick walls and when I roam my house, in some places, I lose connection. That is, simply.
