I have been using an app called Fairtiq, which lets you use public transport without having to buy a ticket up front. It used to accept SEPA payments, but those became unsupported with only a one day prior notice.
So now if I want to keep using that app, I would need to add one of the following payment methods:
- Cards
- Klarna
- Google Pay
- Paypal
I am however unable to use any(!) of these payment methods.
I do not understand whether "Cards" uses some Android API or simply some form from Fairtiq.
It asks for card number, expiry date and cvc/cvv and if you submit, it says: "We are sorry! Something went wrong. Please try again later.".
The same error message appears if I simply click on "Klarna". I do however not have installed a Klarna app.
If I click on "Google Pay", a "Complete your purchase" dialog opens, with my Google address and the payment method it already filled in. If I confirm, the same error message comes. Installing the Google Pay app does not change this.
If I click "Paypal", two interesting things happen. A popup opens saying "A payment process is still active" and a spinner with "Awaiting completion..." is shown next to it. I can only "Cancel" this, however, since it never completes. There is however also a notification that says "You're using this app outside of your work profile". However, Fairtiq, like everything else installed from the play store, uses the Work profile, which I manage with Shelter. Installing the Paypal app, again, does not change this behavior.
Is there any way to salvage this?
