If you have interest in it, I think the best option would be to react on the linked GitHub issue. Probably don't need to comment on it unless there is more to say than "I also want this".

The developers have requested that people avoid "I want this too!" and "Is there any update?" posts on GitHub. They clutter up the issue and spam the developers. Comments like that will cause an issue to have comments locked, or made private. The reaction buttons are fine.
